Every Child Belongs.

ORIMHA’s central entity role in Every Child Belongs is to support successful implementation of IECMH consultation in every region. And a BIG part of that support is in building a diverse and qualified IECMH cosnultation workforce. ORIMHA wraps new IECMH consultants with knowledge, skills, and accessible & relational supports that grow their capacity to offer culturally responsive services. ORIMHA’s Mentor Consultants and other team members assure the IECMH consultants participate in or receive:

  • Community: Monthly community of practice meetings, weekly wrap-up emails that reinforce what is being learned, daily virtual peer-to-peer office space (optional or as needed).

  • Culture Work: With training and support from Threads of Justice. Opportunities for large group and affinity group discussions.

  • Endorsement: Credential that documents a specialization in IECMH-informed service delivery. Training, reflective consultation, and culture work can help meet Endorsement requirements.

  • Manual in process: Standards & Guidelines for IECMH Consultation.

  • Office Hours: Weekly, hosted by a Mentor Consultant (optional or as needed).

  • Reflective Consultation: Individual AND Group, each at least once a month. Options for RC in English or Spanish.

  • Training: Onboarding and ongoing. Some synchronous, some asynchronous.

The program supervisors and administrators of the regional service providers are also wrapped with a variety of supports that include:

  • Applying for the Endorsement credential

  • Monthly community of practice meetings

  • Monthly group reflective consultation (optional)

  • Training (IECMH consultation best practices, using data to support quality improvement, ECB Connect procedures, etc.)

  • Meeting with RSPs individually to support their implementation plans

  • Assisting with equitable hiring practices to help assure a diverse and qualified workforce

Overall, ORIMHA is committed to "filling the cups” of and learning with the regional service providers as we discover how IECMH consultation can best serve the teachers and providers from around the state, thereby reducing the use of exclusionary practices with the infants and young children in their care.
